LET ME HEAR YOUROAR.Find your voice
The ROAR method

Four parts.
Your own pace.

Reclaim Your Voice. Own Your Story. Awaken Your Courage. Rise & Roar.

A practical framework for noticing what matters, choosing your words, rehearsing an action, and carrying it into everyday life. You can revisit any stage. Progress is not a one-way staircase.

01 / R

Reclaim Your Voice

Choose how you express what matters.

Practice a pause, identify a helpful support, and put an ordinary need into a clear request. Spoken, written, signed, and assisted communication all belong here.

Your take-home tool: Personal Voice Plan.

Try: “I need a little time to decide. I will get back to you tomorrow.”

An ordinary practice example—not a requirement to use this wording or share a personal experience.

02 / O

Own Your Story

Give your experience meaning without giving away your privacy.

Separate selected facts from interpretations, recognize a strength, and decide which parts of a story remain yours alone. Owning your story does not mean owning responsibility for harm someone else caused.

Your take-home tool: Private Story Map.

Try: “This is what happened, this is what matters to me, and this is the choice I am making now.”

An ordinary practice example—not a requirement to use this wording or share a personal experience.

03 / A

Awaken Your Courage

Practice one clear action, without needing to feel fearless.

Distinguish a request from a boundary, rehearse yes, no, and not yet, and plan a pause when ordinary disagreement becomes unhelpful. Use an appropriate, non-threatening example.

Your take-home tool: Courage and Boundary Plan.

Try: “I can finish A by Friday. I cannot complete both by then. Which should take priority?”

An ordinary practice example—not a requirement to use this wording or share a personal experience.

04 / R

Rise & Roar

Use your voice in service of your values.

Shape a short message, test a possible direction with a small action, and connect your plan to a cue, support, and review date. Your next step does not have to be a life overhaul.

Your take-home tool: Next-Step Plan.

Try: “If Tuesday’s meeting reaches the question period, I will read my prepared question.”

An ordinary practice example—not a requirement to use this wording or share a personal experience.

A lesson you can actually use

Learn it. See it. Try it. Take it with you.

  1. Understand one idea.

A short explanation and an ordinary worked example.

  2. Choose a manageable practice.

Spoken, written, signed, assisted, or private practice where appropriate.

  3. Notice and revise.

What was understood? What would make the message clearer?

  4. Carry one tool forward.

A request, a story boundary, a practice plan, or an if–then next step.

The foundation, honestly stated

Research-informed components.
A new ROAR curriculum.

The version-one curriculum draws on established speaking practice, voice-care guidance, consent-centered learning design, needs-and-requests communication, and small-step planning. The complete ROAR program has not been independently validated or clinically tested.

These references inform exercises and teaching choices. They do not constitute a certification, affiliation, endorsement, or promise of a particular outcome.

Read the site’s research and evidence context. The book and companion workbook explain how reflection connects to practice.

Choose your next step

One method. More than one way to practice.
